Crystal Direct increases sealed unit production

A Crystal Direct product story

Crystal Direct, has increased manufacture of sealed units by 12% over the last nine months.

Established in 2002, Chairman, Martin Randall, originally wanted to ensure continuity of supply and high standards of production on complete products sold.

Now, Crystal Direct is also supplying sealed units to other fabricator companies who appreciate the quality of the product.

Martin comments: “Glass is a popular way for homeowners to individualise their properties.

We’re seeing growing trends in coloured leads, particularly house numbers.

Producing our own sealed units means installers can depend on quality so there’s no need for call backs and they’ll get more referrals from their happy customers".

Mike Gaillard, Joint Managing Director of quality testing laboratory CENSolutions, comments: “Crystal was so keen to produce a first class sealed unit, it achieved the EN1279 standard two years before it was made mandatory”.

Rob Orru, Crystal’s Glass Division Manager, says: “Quality is so important when producing sealed units.

We’ve opted to be audited by CENSolutions twice yearly which means our standards are always maintained.

We were also awarded a CMS Mark (Compliance Management System) in December 2006.

This allows our customers to tender for work in the new build industry with an assurance of quality standards.”.
