The original contract for a 'Programme Manager' was first advertised in 2005 however in January 2006 the (interim) Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) announced that the contract did not adequately cover the requirements and scrapped the existing tenders and in February re-advertised the role as 'Delivery Partner' with a wider remit.
Once appointed, the successful Delivery Partner will have a major influence on the awarding of key construction contracts when tenders for main projects are invited.
Promising billions in construction work, the 2012 Olympics offers substantial opportunities for companies providing products and services across all construction sectors.
Published by Construct UK , this invaluable 22 page booklet provides an overview of the main construction projects along with details of existing venues, where both permanent and temporary works are required, as well as the main transport development plans.
The booklet presents a project timetable, a note of the long-term plans for selected venues, along with contact information.
It also guides the reader to the main participating companies and provides details of the status of the various schemes and summarises recent developments such as the UK Government's demand for the re-design of Zaha Hadid's Aquatics Centre (to bring the project in line with original budget expectations) and the recent creation of the Olympic Delivery Authority and The Strategic Forum for Construction's 'Olympic Task Force' The Guide is free until the end of August with every copy of Construct UK's 'Exporter's Guide to EU construction Markets' or its 'Handbook' directory covering construction sales contacts and marketing data.
Alternatively copies can be purchased for just £10 from Construct UK's website.
