Stachybotrys is a mold which causes great concern due to medical reports that it poses serious health risks, including immune system suppression, central nervous system problems, lung hemmorages, and has been cited as a cause of death, particularily in infants.

In a high rise building three situations must be present to cause the mold to develop.
There must be high humidity, mold spores, and paper or wood.
Chute Controls of London Ontario Canada has developed a product that keeps a garbage chute in the normally closed positon.
This invention was designed to stop the movement of smoke and fire up a chute.
It has, however, been proven to improve the building envelope.
In northern climates, cold weather causes air to move up the chute.
This stack effect also drags with it contaminents with the air.
In fact, the garbage room is in many instances, leaky to say the least.
This is because the doors take a lot of abuse, moving bins and garbage in and out.
This affects the fit.
Thus untreated humid air moves into the room.
The chute drawing heat from the building, warming the air in the chute, causing the air to rise.
As it rises it leaves the building at the top.
As we are all aware, what goes out of a building must come back into the building to equalize the pressure.
When an occupant on a floor level opens the chute, air comes out, and this air may have spores borne up the chute from the garbage room.
It may also have other particulate matter that none of us would like to breathe.
In a building equipped with our chute door, the air cannot move up the chute.
This keeps untreated air out of the floor levels.
It keeps heat in the building.
And it keeps the spores out of your face, and out of your lungs.
f having a device that saves energy, (up to 18% off heating bills), stops smoke and fire movement, and reduces the probability of mold spores coming up the chute seems like a good idea, you need our chute door.
UL listed, tested, 1.5 hour labelled, and approved for use in New York City.
