Daikin Airconditioning UK has built a brand new Technology Centre for engineers in the building services industry, designed to keep them up-to-date with the latest training and technological advancements within the air conditioning industry Specifically designed to transfer knowledge and technological know how to engineers in a constantly evolving marketplace, the Technology Centre has a range of seminars, ranging from basic right through to advanced, covering all aspects of air conditioning refrigeration, heating and control systems

Mark Dyer, marketing manager at Daikin Airconditioning UK , said: "Changes to legislation and technical product advancements mean it is vitally important that building service engineers continually update their knowledge to keep one step ahead of the competition and provide the best possible service to their customers.

"At Daikin, our aim is to raise the potential for the dissemination of air conditioning technology within the industry to even greater heights, providing an effective balance between theoretical and practical knowledge transfer to help raise the satisfaction of the end use client.

It is our permanent concern that the end user client gains the maximum benefits from the research and development investments we make each year." Located in Woking, near Daikin UK's headquarters in Weybridge, the centre is believed to be the most advanced facility in the UK.

Courses provide delegates with a thorough understanding of the very latest air conditioning, heat pump, VRV, refrigeration - heating and recovery systems, as well as the Daikin suite of advanced intelligent computerised control packages.

Special purpose designed courses can also be arranged against specific customer requests and basic courses for apprentices are available to form a firm base for the understanding of advanced systems.

The Centre will promote the technology inherent in current Daikin products, as well as new developments.

Initially, these include: Altherma - a residential heating, hot water and cooling system; Conveni-pack - a convenience store freezing, refrigeration and air conditioning system; and water cooled VRV.

Continued Dyer: "Clearly, the incorporation of a UK Technology Centre will enhance awareness of our advanced and innovative air conditioning systems and help raise the quality of system design and installation.

For the benefit of all our clients, along with our other training sites in Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester, our target is to have 2000 engineers benefit from our training by the end of the year.".
