DEKS Distribution UK launched Perform, its new lead replacement roofing product this month, and needed to for the company's own warehouse buildings.

When DEKS Distribution UK launched Perform, its new lead replacement roofing product this month, little did general manager David Jones know that within a few days he would end up needing to use it for the company's own warehouse buildings Thieves struck at DEKS' premises on an industrial estate in Portbury near Bristol, stripping off hundreds of pounds worth of lead from surrounding warehouse and office units

"As I drove up to our offices, I noticed that the lead flashing from the canopy above the external door was missing on both of our units, and some of our neighbours' buildings had suffered the same fate," said David.

"Turning a negative into a positive, I realised this presented the ideal opportunity for me to test out Perform for myself - and I'm pleased to report it was as easy to use and fit as we say it is" he added.

High demand in China and the Asian markets for lead has caused prices to soar, and created a lucrative income stream for thieves who are cashing in on high scrap metal values.

Perform provides a cost effective and environmentally friendly alternative to lead and can be used for any roofing application.

It is made of flexible rubber coated aluminium mesh and is available in three colour options, grey, terracotta and black (to order).

Perform comes in 250mm, 300mm and 450mm widths in 4m rolls.
