A new surge-protection device from Dehn UK incorporates a technique known as pro-active thermo control to give an early warning of potential failures The new DEHNguard TH275 LI is the first surge arrester to give the user advance warning of failure while still maintaining its full surge-protection capacity

This early warning allows the user to take appropriate action to maximise availability of the electrical system.

The unit features a 3-stage green/yellow/red indicator along with a floating changeover contact that provides the remote signalling function, informing the user of the system's status.

If there is any risk that the varistor structure might be irreversibly damaged due to an increased energy load, the user is informed by the yellow indicator and the remote signalling function.

The surge-protection module can then be exchanged for another unit before the installation becomes unprotected.

The DEHNguard TH275 LI surge arrester is particularly suited to the protection of industrial or commercial installations where high levels of reliability and availability are essential.
