Protect rooftop structures from lightning strikes

A Dehn product story

DEHNiso Combi from Dehn UK is an isolated air-termination system that protects rooftop structures from lightning strikes.

DEHNiso Combi from Dehn UK is an isolated air-termination system designed to protect rooftop structures typically used to house heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems from the effects of lightning strikes.

DEHNiso Combi will not only protect rooftop electrical and metal installations against lightning strokes: it will also prevent partial lightning currents from entering the building.

If separation distances are determined by the calculations specified in the new EN62305-3 standard, uncontrolled sparkovers are prevented.

The system is based on a modular concept, and consists of a range of components including air-termination rods with conical or tent-shaped protective areas, multiple air-termination rods for protecting larger structures, and self-supporting air-termination systems with tripod support.

The modular nature of the system allows a high degree of flexibility in configuration, so that even rooftop structures with complicated outlines can be easily protected.

The individual components are designed around a light but solid structure using glass-fibre reinforced plastic for the insulating pipes and aluminium for the conductors.

Single-screw clamp fixtures allow components to be installed on pipes, profiled systems, walls and corners.

The separation distance is established using an insulating unit within the insulating pipe and a distance rod made of glass-fibre reinforced plastic.

A range of standard lengths and rods is available to cater for different situations.

Tripod supports with fixed concrete bases are available for situations where wind stresses are likely to be encountered.
