Designplan Illuminates Capital City
Academy
Working in collaboration with architect and consulting engineers, Buro Happold, Designplan manufactured a range of bespoke fittings to complement the Capital City Academy state-of-the-art architecture

In lighting the exterior facade, specifiers went for a more subtle effect.
They chose recessed spot downlighters to provide a gentle filter of light from the extended roof around the main entrance.
The Academy is funded by the Department for Education and Skills and sponsored by Sir Frank Lowe, who recently had the Academy's sports hall named in his honour.
The Capital City Academy aims to raise the educational attainment of its pupils by providing them with an inspirational environment that fosters learning.
