Dewalt have developed a new low vibration 9Kg hammer range that is designed for the heaviest of applications.

Following the success of the launch of the new low vibration 7Kg hammer range in August 2005 Dewalt have taken this a step further and developed a 9KG version that is designed for the heaviest of applications Whereas the D25701K 7KG combination hammer was designed as a hammer drill that can chisel, the new D25730K can really be described as a breaker that can drill such is the performance

The new D25730K 9KG hammer takes many of the innovative features from the 7KG version that make drilling and breaking safer for the end user and meets the European Physical Agents Directive 2002/44/EC for Hand Arm Vibration (HAV).

The D25730K has an x-axis vibration level of only 5.7m/s2 (only 11.4m/s2 tri-axial level) which means it can be used for more than double the time of most comparable competitive machines available on the market.

The low vibration levels are derived from the AVC (Active Vibration Control) systems used inside the machines.

The first AVC is the spring loaded weight that counterbalances the movement of the hammer mechanism, dampening the vibration produced at the source helping to reduce the tri-axial vibration by up to 30%.

The second is the floating rear handle which is spring loaded and linked between top and bottom via a steel rod.

With this in place, no matter where the rear handle is pressed the whole handle is completely dampened from top to bottom, helping to reduce x-axis vibration by over 70%.

Although user comfort is paramount DEWALT realise that power and performance cannot be sacrificed to achieve this.

With this in mind the D25730K is powered by a 1500 watt motor and delivers a thumping 18 joules impact energy, enough for the most demanding applications.

Another safety feature on the D25730K is the 2-step clutch system.

Through research DEWALT found that most end users wanted a clutch system with lower torque but with the option for high torque when needed.

This is particularly useful for those that drill a variety of different sized holes.

The low torque setting is perfect for holes up to 40mm and the high torque setting is suitable for 40mm+ holes, especially core drilling up to 150mm.

The torque system is completely mechanical thus making it more reliable than electronic clutches; the unit clutches out alerting the operator of the problem without switching the unit off and only operates when required.

The D25730K is ideal for all demolition applications but can also be used for drilling solid holes up to 52mm and cores up to 150mm.
