The Rigger Boot has become one of the most popular styles of safety footwear for those working in the construction industry.

The Rigger Boot has become one of the most popular styles of safety footwear for those working in the construction industry Leading workwear manufacturer Dickies (UK) offers its customers a high quality version of this style of boot with the Texan Waterproof Rigger

Combining high specification materials and detailed construction has produced a superior safety footwear product that will meet the demands of the rugged environment in which it will be worn.

The upper of the Texan Waterproof Rigger Boot is manufactured from an oil tanned, premium quality, high abrasion resistant leather, while the sole is made from lightweight, antistatic Nitrile rubber that is heat and oil resistant.

Comfort features include a breathable lining and a Sympatex waterproof membrane.

Sympatex is a waterproof and breathable synthetic material that has been used in the production of high performance clothing and footwear for over twenty years.

Because of its non-porous structure it is one of the thinnest, lightest and flexible breathable waterproof membranes in the world.

Wind and rain repellent, Sympatex allows water vapour, in the form of perspiration, to escape through the billions of hydrophilic (water attracting) zones that make up its structure, keeping the feet warm and dry.

Dickies employs the Goodyear welted method of constructing in the manufacturing process of the Texan Waterproof Rigger.

This traditional and robust form of manufacturing involves a strip of material called a "welt" being sewn to the upper and insole of the shoe or boot.

The outer sole is then attached to the welt.

The benefits of Goodyear welted construction over other forms of footwear manufacturing include exceptional comfort, greater insulation, improved shape retention, superior strength and repairs to the sole are made easier.

Protection is provided by regulation steel toe-caps conforming to EN345 (200 Joules), which means they will withstand the impact of 20kg in weight falling on to the toes from a height of 10.2 metres and give compression protection corresponding to approximately 1.5 tonnes resting on the toe area.

A further safety feature is the flexible steel midsole incorporated in the design of the Texan Waterproof Rigger offering additional protection from the risk of puncture injuries from sharp objects underfoot.
