Coup for DM Hall as Tesco takes West 11 place

DM Hall has signed up Tesco as the blue chip lead tenant in the exciting West 11 development, built by award winning housebuilder Cruden Homes, in the heart of Glasgow's cosmopolitan West End.

Tesco, Scotland's largest private sector employer has opened an Express store within the mixed use development near Partick Cross.

The deal, negotiated by DM Hall on behalf of Cruden Property Investments, has seen the supermarket chain taking 4,700 square feet of space at a rental of GBP70,500, or GBP15 per square foot.

The new store is situated in a prime position in an increasingly diverse and vibrant retail environment which is being economically stimulated by both local developments and the Cruden Homes West 11' development, which has created a range of reasonably priced stylish homes in one of the most sought after locations in Glasgow.

The luxurious apartments at West 11 are much in demand for their ideal location situated just off bustling Byres Road and within easy reach of the cosmopolitan restaurants and bars of the West End.

Euan McGonigle, of DM Hall's Glasgow North branch said: "It is a major and very satisfactory achievement to be able to attract a top class retailer at a full market rent in the most difficult market anyone has seen for decades.

"Being able to bring Tesco on board speaks volumes for the quality of Crudens' West 11 development and also for the prospects for what is now one of the most interesting and cosmopolitan locations in Glasgow".

Liz Mallon, sales and marketing manager of Cruden Homes West, said: "Tesco's presence adds further value to what is already one of the most exciting developments in the West End of Glasgow and can only enhance the attractiveness of the few remaining flats still available in West 11".

The Tesco deal coincides with DM Hall's successful sale of four out of six state-of-the-art office suites in the same development.

Buyers include CM Design Consultants, Spinney and Partners and Independent Accountants in Scotland This latest deal means that only two vacant units remain available in the West 11 development.
