An unvented heating system was specified as it enabled both the boiler and hot water cylinder to be moved to the back of the garage to free up the old airing cupboard on the property's landing, which was combined with space taken from the large family bathroom, to create a much needed third bathroom upstairs.
"I suggested the Halstead Eden SBX to Rebecca as the best appliance for the size of the property and the planned location for its installation," explains Clive.
"I've been installing Halstead boilers for years, and whilst all of their boilers are quick and easy to install, the Eden SBX is a particularly good design that means installation is very straight-forward, not least due to its pre-fixing jig".
Clive and his team were on-site for ten days installing the boiler, hot water cylinder and full heating system, in-line with the property's project development schedule.
The Dimplex hot water cylinder was specified to work in conjunction with the Halstead Eden SBX and create a total, integrated heating and hot water system complete.
Its capacity and operation is designed to specifically supply sufficient hot water for dwellings with four bedrooms and multi-bathrooms, making it perfect for Rebecca's Poole development.
As it operates by drawing water directly from the mains, it was ideal for the 'out of the way' location Rebecca desired for the property, and easily handles demands for the fast-filling baths and powerful showers in each of the property's three bathrooms.
Halstead's Eden SBX is high on performance and efficiency, whilst being low on environmental impact.
CH output is 30.0kW (102,000 Btu/hr) with a wide modulation range to tailor output to optimum heating requirement.
SEDBUK A rated, the boiler has a stainless steel coil heat exchanger with the latest burner technology for quiet and efficient operation.
The Poole property heating system includes 16 radiators, all stylish contemporary aluminium designs to reflect Rebecca's overall interior design scheme throughout the home, which heat up instantly, powered by the Eden SBX.
The Dimplex SCx range of unvented water cylinders includes direct and indirect models from 80 litres up to 305 litres.
All models in the range are suitable to supply high power, hot water solutions for all types of domestic properties and have a duplex stainless steel inner cylinder.
"Plumbing and installation was easy," says Clive, "as the cylinder has an internal expansion chamber that eliminates the need to plumb or locate an external expansion vessel".
Rebecca didn't want to increase the overall size of the Poole property, but to create a totally different layout to the original house, which meant very few of the internal walls remained in the same place.
The only addition was of a rear balcony to the repositioned master bedroom, to afford spectacular views of the rear garden, which has also undergone a makeover with the addition of new decking, planting and lighting.
The Property Ladder programme featuring Rebecca Lang's Poole development aired on Channel 4 in December 2007.
The property's development actually completed earlier in the year in February, at which time it was valued at GBP800,000.
