Dimplex cracks the sustainable code at Ecobuild
Dimplex is cracking the Code for Sustainable Homes with a range of renewable space and water heating solutions, access to LCBP Phase 2 microgeneration grants and heat pump installer training.
The new Code presents a major challenge to the construction industry, with social housing projects needing to achieve Code Level 3 or above to attract funding, which requires a mandatory 25% carbon emission reduction level over current Building Regulations Part L.
The Code is also expanding to cover private sector projects from 2008, so the new standard guarantees to deliver improvements in specific areas including energy.
One of the most straightforward ways to deliver the considerable carbon savings required to achieve Level 3 (and possibly the only way to achieve Level 4 and beyond) is to incorporate a heat pump in the development, giving carbon savings of 50% or more over conventional fossil fuel heating systems.
Dimplex offers the UK's widest range of heat pumps, across air, water and ground source models and has been making and installing them in Europe for over 25 years.
With models suitable for indoor or outdoor installation, and offering a range of outputs from a domestic 5kW up to 130kW for large commercial premises, Dimplex heat pumps deliver low carbon, highly efficient heating in every installation.
For public sector projects, Dimplex is one of only three approved suppliers of ground source heat pumps under the government's Low Carbon Buildings Programme Phase 2, which provides grants of up to 35% of heat pump capital and installation costs.
Dimplex, together with its national network of approved heat pump installer partners, can help schools, local authorities, housing associations and other public sector organisations to access this funding.
Experienced heating, plumbing, electrical and HVAC installers can also benefit from the UK's increasing demand for low carbon heating, as Dimplex now runs installer training courses on its popular range of air source heat pumps.
With exclusive access to a full marketing support pack including post-installation commissioning services, extended warranties, full Dimplex technical support services and website listings, successful participants will also receive a discount voucher and free commissioning voucher worth over GBP500 in total.
And last year Dimplex launched Solar Eclipse, a complete solar hot water system.
Available in 12 easy-to-specify pre-packaged kits, Solar Eclipse combines easily with all-electric heating systems to offer a complete low carbon electric heating solution and provide a straightforward way to assist with Code for Sustainable Homes ratings and meet Building Regulations Part L requirements.
