Dimplex heat pumps have enabled fast-response, controllable heating for a refurbished Grade II-listed hotel and leisure club.
Miskin Manor in Wales has been refurbished to include facilities upgrades with the latest technology for lower energy costs and environmental impact.
A refurbished leisure facility has been fitted with Dimplex air source heat pumps
Two Dimplex LA 28 AS air-source heat pumps have been installed, one to provide heating and high-demand hot water for the showers and another for the swimming pool with spare capacity for extension into the next phase of the hotel's refurbishment programme.
The heat pump serving the swimming pool is connected to a hot-water and air-handling unit, with a 500l buffer tank to meet demand as required.
The efficiency of the system was put to the test when the weather conditions were very cold, with temperatures of 4C and dropping to -5C at night.
The heat pump successfully raised the water and air temperatures in less than a week, allowing the pool to be opened.
The Dimplex heat pumps have reduced fuel bills since they were installed and have lowered energy consumption.
