DORMA achieves door closer manufacturing milestone

DORMA has manufactured its 100 millionth door closer, reflecting the proven performance, reliability and brand position DORMA has achieved within the market.

DORMA first started making door closers in 1950, and now the group comprises 71 wholly-owned companies in 47 different countries.

It launched the first surface mounted cam-action door closer in 1986.

The TS 93 offered advanced technology to provide rapid decrease in opening resistance, making it particularly suitable in helping to meet the requirements of Approved Document M and BS8300.

Since the launch of cam action door closers, DORMA has manufactured more than 10 million units.

Other firsts have included: the TS 59, which was the first door closer to be marine approved; the TS 69 which was the first transom door closer; and the TS 97, the first product within the Contur design range which includes panic hardware, lever handles and automatic door operators.
