In-house promotions leave team spirits
high
Staff at Drakes Plumbing Supplies have been inspired by two recent internal promotions.
Drakes Plumbing Supplies has appointed Ken Rees as its new Sevenoaks branch manager and Andy Reeves assistant manager at its East Grinstead premises whilst boosting staff morale Although numerous external and internal applicants applied to both positions, Ken and Andy's enthusiasm to progress within the company together with their extensive industry knowledge made them perfect for the job

Ken, who was previously the East Grinstead assistant branch manager, admitted he was still finding his feet in the new role and getting used to staff and customers.
He believes internal promotions are always better, if possible, taking advantage of existing staff's industry and company knowledge whilst encouraging them to pursue the career prospects at Drakes.
The new assistant managerial position will be juggled with an Open University management course for Andy, who is due to start the Professional Certificate in Management later in the year.
He joined Drakes in December 2003.
Mike Remon, Drakes' Business Development Manager said: "It is always pleasing to promote staff within Drakes to the vacancies that arise although it is not always relevant.
Our managerial positions require a certain high standard of individual who can deliver the Drakes promises to both staff and customers.
'We strive to deliver an outstanding level of customer service and in order to achieve this we need people who have both industry knowledge/expertise and the ability to drive their staff and the company forward.
