D R Services has introduced a new brushed aluminium finish into its popular range of sliding stacking door gear.

Responding to demand from the specification market, D R Services has introduced a new brushed aluminium finish into its popular range of sliding stacking door gear.

The Series 600, Series 700 and Series 800 systems for the installation of glass doors in retail, commercial and leisure developments are now offered with the brushed aluminium finish to replicate the appearance of stainless steel at a more affordable price.

Julie Jarvis, Technical Director of D R Services, says: "For some years now, in 99% of situations where the aesthetic is important, architects and interior designers have chosen to specify stainless steel systems.

Now the Germans have come up with a very convincing brushed aluminium finish that you can install alongside stainless steel and not be able to tell the difference.

"The aluminium system is not quite as robust as stainless steel, but installed three metres above the floor, it just is not going to get the knocks it would at ground level.

We believe that innovation is an important step forward, especially from the point of view of best value." Anodised aluminium is just as weather and corrosion resistant as stainless steel while crucially, if it does receive some damage such as a scratch, corrosion will not creep beneath the surface as it does with electro-plated finishes.

Therefore the brushed aluminium products will prove suitable for situations such as swimming pools, shower rooms or other wet areas as well as seaside locations.

D R Services has recently completed high profile contracts for different clients on retail and commercial developments in the south east.

The company has provided the main entrance screen to the Elmsleigh Shopping Centre in Staines.

The eight sections stack to one side, parking in an offset bay and presenting the appearance of a glass column.

Then for the most recent phase of work at Canary Wharf D R Services fabricated and installed a total of 13 walls, three fixed and another 10 sliding or stacking.

The largest of these comprise 17 leafs that move on a curved track into a parking bay.
