The installation of a stylish yet unobtrusive canopy by D R Services has helped distinguish the new entrance to a refurbished junior school in the London Borough of Hounslow.

While obviously serving a functional role in offering temporary refuge from the weather, the glass and stainless steel canopy fabricated for Feltham Junior School also adds an aesthetic dimension with its minimalist, transparent form.

Hertfordshire-based D R Services was approached to produce the special canopy by the Project Architect for the London Borough of Hounslow, Barney Grimes and then undertook the contract for Borras Construction.

Barney Grimes recounts: "Another architect who had used D R Services in the past recommended the company to me and I contacted them direct".

"The minimalist styling of the canopy suited both the practical and the aesthetic requirements of the project".

The Project Director for Borras Construction, Keith Frost, adds: "The contract went well despite it being a complex refurbishment, where we upgraded and moved the reception from one end of the building to the other: which is where we installed the canopy".

"The project went well and we were pleased with the appearance as well as the service we received from DRS".

D R Services offers a full range of entrance options including framing components and door furniture to create bespoke glazed screens or full retail frontages.

The company can further supply automatic door systems to facilitate compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act.
