Specialist contractor Dudley's has completed its latest projects for long standing client Tesco.
The conversion of a garden centre to a Tesco store in Haslingden, Lancashire, included the demolition of a section of the existing building, an extension and refurbishment of the cafe, sales and staff areas.
The conversion of Tesco in Coulby Newham, Middlesborough included internal demolition and complete fit out of the two story site.
The multi-million pound Haslingden project is the latest of several successful Tesco refurbishments undertaken by Dudley's.
The development to transform the existing structure to a Tesco store took 28 weeks and included demolition of the rear structure and service yard, the extension of the roof via a steel frame structure, new aluminum shop-fronts throughout, a car park upgrade, new floors and ceilings, lift installation as well as a revamped cafe, the creation of sales and staff areas and a Tesco recruitment centre.
The development at Coulby Newham to transform the existing structure to a Tesco store took just 8 weeks and included internal demolition and complete fit out of both floors.
The ground floor fit out to house the sales floor and the first floor to contain the cash office, other offices, canteen and staff areas.
Fit out included new shopfronts, suspended ceilings, new floors and shelving.
Other works were carried out to the car park and an extension added to the service and delivery yard.
They follow the recent completion of Tesco stores in Birmingham, Newcastle, Romford and London.
Dudley's achieve impressive interior and exterior design through the use of the latest computerised design facilities and hi-tech decorative materials.
The company's teams, with specialist knowledge of retail environments, contribute to a full Retail Design and Built Project Management Package.
Mike Dudley, managing director, Dudley's said, "Our relationship with Tesco over the last 35 years has taken us across the UK and our latest projects have been completed".
"Haslingden has certainly been one of the most interesting projects, the transformation of an existing building is always more problematic than a new build, but a garden centre into a fully functioning Tesco store was certainly a challenge".
"However our teams who managed to complete both jobs on time and on budget undertook the challenge with their usual 'can do' attitude and 'nothing phases us' philosophy.".
