Dudley refurbishment of Tesco Extra at Sandhurst
Specialist contractor Dudley has completed a refurbishment project for long standing client Tesco at the highest earning store in Sandhurst, Surrey.
The multi million pound project, part of a 10 year refresh programme completed over 13 weeks, comprised of a re-fit of the sales area, staff area and warehouse.
This involved fitting new shelving, deli counters, a customer services desk, kiosk, photo processing unit, pharmacy and opticians branded in Tescos new up market specification first to seen in a Extra Format The Sandhurst store is also home to one of the few Tesco product assessment centers in the UK with its own kitchen facilities where new products can be prepared and tested.
The completed project at Sandhurst follows on from national refresh and construction projects by Dudley's, most notably in 2006 the Croydon dot com facility, the first Tesco store to be used solely for online purchases.
Mike Dudley, managing director, Dudley's said, "This refurbishment was slightly problematic for us as the store remained open 24 hours a day, our experience of similar projects around the country meant we were able to operate to the tight deadline with little disruption to the sales floor.".
