Duraflex chosen for social housing refurbishment
Hanover Housing Group has chosen the Duraflex Diamond suite of windows for the refurbishment of a housing project in Bournemouth
The Hanover Group is one of the largest specialist providers of retirement housing, related support and services in England and by 2012, aims to be the number one provider for older people looking for high quality housing.
The South West office specified the Duraflex wood grain product to replace aluminium frames on two five-storey blocks of flats.
Residents were given a choice of a woodgrain or white finish inside to match their decor and personal preference.
The window installers, Tull and Darch of Portsmouth, had to carefully consider the needs of residents with arthritis and chose telescopic window handles where required, for ease of opening.
Working on only one corner of the building at any time also safeguarded the security of the residents.
Available in 38 colours and finishes, the Duraflex Diamond range includes a shoot bolt locking/security hinge and choice of fully featured or bevelled systems.
The range is supplied with a 7-day lead time with next day remakes and free skip use - saving the installer time and costs.
Duraflex is one of the largest extruders of PVCU profile in the UK, supplying householders, builders, developers, local authorities and housing associations through a nationwide network of fabricators and installers.
Its windows, doors and conservatory suites are engineered to create a superb finish to any installation and come with a comprehensive 10-year guarantee.
The company operates to stringent manufacturing and quality standards.
It also holds the Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2004 British Standards Institute Award.
