Training commitment continues at Duraflex
Duraflex management enrol their staff on various NVQ courses and continue to maintain their registered NVQ Training Centre status.
The on-going staff development and training programme validates the forward-thinking stance taken by the directors, who consider it a vital element for both the team and their customers.
This approach has seen positive results with the company firmly establishing itself as a leading supplier to the Window Industry.
The training programmes are initiated by Steve Smith - Quality, Health, Safety and Training Manager.
30 Duraflex candidates are registered onto the NVQ manufacturing performance programme annually, which helps to maintain consistently high production methods and also further boost team morale.
Additionally Supervisors are been enrolled onto the ILM NVQ Level 3 Supervisor programme that teaches proficiency in communications and motivational team building, as well as man management skills.
This assists in training, encouraging and evaluating other staff members within the office and manufacturing departments at Duraflex.
The programme, which for successful candidates, results in NVQ qualifications as well as First Line Management certificates, evaluates a number of high level numeracy and literary skills, ascertains levels of strengths and weaknesses, then develops the course in line with individual and company requirements.
Duraflex maintains production levels as candidates receive on-site evaluation and training which is integrated into a working programme with regular discussions taking place during work hours on the different modules, to ensure that practice and theory can be combined quickly and effectively, without disruption to production.
"Duraflex strives to encourage and train staff to the highest standards and constantly evaluates all departments as well as new and existing team members".
"This boosts morale and also greatly benefits both the company and its customers in terms of the support services we provide" says Steve Smith.
"The courses, which generally run for 12 months at a time are considered constructive and rewarding by candidates".
"The teams are offered as much support as possible in order to achieve their aims and further their own careers".
E Learning (Computer Based learning) NVQ programmes have also been piloted at Duraflex and offer a variable option to the more conventional methods.
Training courses are a continuing part of the Duraflex work ethos and will be regularly initiated in various departments as part of the ongoing training and development programme.
