Dulas Wood Energy will be commissioning the first woodfuelled district heating system in Wales.
Dulas Wood Energy will be commissioning the first woodfuelled district heating system in Wales in September 2003 The new 500kW woodfuel heating system will provide heat to the school, the community centre and about 20 surrounding houses via a district heat network

Sophisticated digital controls provide remote monitoring facilities, controls adjustment and early warning of servicing requirements.
Using 4-500 tonnes of woodchip from local forestry sources, the woodfuel heating system provides cost competitive heat - securing savings against oil, coal and electric heating.
Locally, it will displace significant local pollution from coal fires, whilst displacing 1,805 tonnes of CO2 over the next five years, with each house displacing 8.8 tonnes of CO2 per annum on average.
