Durapipe ABS pipework has been installed in a new state-of-the-art swimming pool complex in Manukau City, Auckland, New Zealand.
Durapipe ABS pipework in sizes ranging from 110mm to 20mm was specified to meet the needs of the chilled water system.
The high performance plastic pipe system was selected primarily to offer ease of handling on site and provided contractors Atherton and Partners additional benefits as a result.
"Durapipe ABS was selected for the project, confirms Brian McCormick of Atherton and Partners, because it is easier to install than comparable pipework and therefore helped to save costs on the actual installation process".
For the hot and cold water services to the laboratory areas, Friatherm was chosen as the most suitable option given the hygienic environment.
Friatherm requires no hot works or pipe end preparation and because of its high grade plastic manufacture, scale and corrosion build up, commonly associated with metal pipework, are eliminated.
Friatherm was supplied to Herron House in sizes from 50 to 16mm pipe with associated sockets, elbows, reduced tees, pipe clips and male unions.
Consultants Silcock Dawson and Partners required a chemical drainage system that offered both reliability and safety and the choice of Vulcathene fulfilled these requirements.
Proven to be the leading solution for chemical waste drainage, the purpose designed system is engineered for the safe conveyance of chemical waste.
Throughout the project, Durapipe UK ensured that the most appropriate systems were specified to accommodate the requirements of the client; offering minimum risk throughout the installation process, due to the absence of welding and maximum performance for the conveyance of chilled, hot and cold water and for chemical drainage.
