Compression Fittings from the Philmac Universal Transition Couplings range have been installed in a new bottling plant at a farm in West Somerset.

Compression Fittings from the Philmac Universal Transition Couplings range have been installed in a new bottling plant at a farm in West Somerset.

Traditionally, Styles Farmhouse has manufactured ice cream but recently invested in a spring water bottling plant, expanding its business structure.

The Philmac Compression Fittings were key in ensuring the water was carried quickly and efficiently through the system to maximise output.

Looking to diversify its ice cream operation, specifically over the winter months, the farm installed the bottling system to utilise the natural spring inlet in its field.

The farm was looking for one pipework material to be used throughout the system to provide consistency and after selecting Polyethylene, it required a compatible mechanical connection procedure, which would also meet the supply pressure ratings.

Contractors W.H.Hendy and Sons who had previously used Philmac, recommended the Philmac UTC range to the client because it offered a cost effective and versatile alternative to stainless steel.

It also provided a quick and easy connection process, reducing significant installation times for the contractors, as the time-consuming task of pipe preparation was not required.

Specified in 20mm, 25mm and 32mm, a range of joiners and elbows from the high performance Philmac UTC range were installed in the Process Room, to join and cater for a series of metric PE pipework.

Philmac Compression Fittings provide the ultimate in pipe connection flexibility both in size and material.

Designed to effectively join polyethylene pipes to different materials, including copper, alkathene, PVC, galvanised iron and even lead.
