The £24.5 million project, which is under construction by Taylor Woodrow, on behalf of CALA Homes (Midlands), comprises 258 one and two bedroom apartments on five floors.

Contractors, Rotary North West Limited, were tasked with selecting a drainage system for the apartments, which would minimise noise emitted by sanitary installations within the luxury accommodation.

As a result, the Friaphon system from Durapipe UK was specified for the development.

Installed in 110mm, the Friaphon system offers in-built sound reducing properties and so was the ideal solution for the project.

Commenting on the installation, a spokesperson from Rotary North West Limited, said: "Friaphon's built in sound insulation properties meant that we didn't have to employ extra services to lag all the casts between lower and higher apartments, saving significantly on costs incurred by additional labour time.

Friaphon is manufactured by dual forming two materials of different density and guarantees excellent sound insulation and airborne sound reduction properties.

Manufactured in metric sizes, Friaphon offers a superior solution for all above ground drainage and internal rainwater applications, making it the ideal choice for inner city apartment developments.

The Post Box is situated adjacent to the Mail Box luxury residential and shopping complex and stands on a brownfield site, originally occupied by light industrial premises and boasts an internal courtyard and underground parking.
