Durapipe helps combat onsite thefts in North East

A Durapipe product story

A development of retirement apartments in the North East has utilised a range of Superflo pipework from Durapipe UK, to tackle metal thefts onsite.

During construction of The Avenue in Eaglescliffe, Durham, the site suffered from multiple thefts of copper for re-sale.

As a result, contractors looked for alternative materials that would reduce the risk and turned to Durapipe UK.

The Superflo pipework system in sizes up to 3inches was installed to distribute the cold water from the water mains to each of the retirement apartments within the block.

Durapipe Superflo is designed to cater for chilled or boosted cold water applications within the building services sector.

The system offers increased benefits; its lightweight properties, coupled with a simple solvent weld jointing technique, significantly reduces costs during the installation process.

The limescale and corrosion free capabilities and wide operating temperatures that see the pipework remains tough and durable down to -40C.
