DuPont Tyvek par for the course at Otley College
The Roofing faculty at Otley College in Suffolk helps to prepare the next generation of highly skilled roofers with DuPont Tyvek as the breather membrane of choice.
Course Leader Mark Crisp believes that with the ongoing skills shortage and the expected pre-2012 construction boom, there will continue to be a great demand for well-trained roofing professionals.
Using specially designed pitched roofing rigs, the course trains students in all aspects of roofing, including the importance of a high quality envelope that will both protect the roof structure, allow it to breathe and help improve the overall energy efficiency of a structure.
"The students love working with Tyvek," saya Mark, "because of its durability, quality and how clean and easy it is to work with".
All the key requirements for a high-performance breather membrane are built right into the very nature of DuPont Tyvek.
Unique because of its high-quality single layer construction, Tyvek is naturally vapour open but also water-tight.
By offering this protection, Tyvek boosts the thermal performance, and therefore the energy-efficiency of a building.
Robust and resistant to UV damage and wear and tear, DuPont Tyvek offers peace of mind in the form of reliability, durability, trouble-free installation, plus the technical support of a global science company.
