DuPont Tyvek win UKTFA Q-Mark award

High-performance DuPont Tyvek family of membranes have been awarded prestigious Q-Mark by UK Timber Frame Association.

The award confirms the confidence the construction industry can have in these advanced, robust, and reliable products.

The Q-Mark covers the renowned standard range of DuPont Tyvek membranes plus more recent developments such as the metallised membranes and air-leakage barrier that make up DuPont Climate Systems and the new specialist membrane DuPont Tyvek UV Facade.

According to the UKFTA, the DuPont products have satisfied a strict set of criteria covering: health and safety, quality, environment management, chain of custody accreditation, insurance, and compliance with codes and standards (as listed on the UKTFA website).

The Q-Mark award follows on from renewal of the BBA certificates for the DuPont Tyvek membranes sold in Wall applications (BBA No 90/2548) and in Roof applications (BBA No 08/4548).

Furthermore, DuPont Climate Systems has recently been granted a Product Prototype Assessment from the BBA (PPA No 08/P002), verifying claims for the thermal benefits of these advanced products.

Unique in the market because of its durable, high-quality single layer construction, DuPont Tyvek is naturally vapour open but also water-tight.

This is due to its composition of millions of micro fibres that are bonded together to make a "maze" that's impermeable to moisture and yet allows water vapour to pass through the natural pores in its structure.
