EC Harris, international property and construction consultants, has been awarded three major projects for Bristol International Airport.

Following other successful large scale projects with Bristol International Airport EC Harris has been first choice to be tasked with providing cost management services for the masterplanning of the facility The masterplanning involves a response to a government white paper consisting of detailed proposals for expansion of the airport to cater for 9m passengers per year by 2015 and further outline proposals for expansion to accommodate 12m passengers per year by 2030

The consultancy has just completed phase one of a two phase project to resurface the runway and taxiway, providing cost management services.

Phase one will run until July 2007 with phase two proposed to take place in the winter of 2007.

The final project sees EC Harris also providing cost management services for the enhancement of the silver zone car parks at the airport which is due to be completed by Easter 2006.

Nick Cryer, partner at the Bristol office of EC Harris commented on the new projects: "EC Harris has established a strong relationship with Bristol International Airport and we are delighted that the relationship will continue with these exciting projects.

"Each project has an interesting challenge whether it is assessing the future growth and nature of the aviation sector over the next 10 to 25 years for the masterplanning, achieving a resurfaced runway without impacting on airport operations, or the development of the car parks in a short time frame.

With our extensive portfolio of aviation sector expertise we look forward to the ongoing challenges that lie ahead".

A spokesperson from Bristol International Airport added: "We have chosen EC Harris for their expertise and ability to add value in delivering these key projects.".
