EC Harris courts success

An EC Harris product story

EC Harris has been appointed by Her Majesty's Courts Service to manage the property assets and facilities of the prestigious Royal Courts of Justice Group .

EC Harris, the leading international consultancy, has been appointed by Her Majesty's Courts Service (HMCS) to manage the property assets and facilities of the prestigious Royal Courts of Justice Group (RCJ).

The RCJ includes both the Supreme Court incorporating the Court of Appeal, the High Court, Queens Bench Division, Family Division and Chancery Division and covers in excess of 80 court rooms and more than 1,000 separate offices - totalling 1millon sq ft.

The role will cover managing agent services, including estate management and upgrades, health and safety, statutory compliance, maintenance and project management and the provision of helpdesk services.

This will free up the core RCJ management to concentrate more on strategic issues affecting front-line service delivery, rather than spending time on day-to-day estate management issues.

EC Harris already provides these managing agent services to HMCS for its London, South East and Midlands regions, involving offices and estates totalling a further 7 million sq ft.

Critical to all contracts is EC Harris' partnering approach with the HMCS, whereby the services offered and the activities delivered have a clear strategic benefit and helps them to meet their wider business objectives.

Alan Kemp, Partner at EC Harris, said: "We work very closely with HMCS and are obviously delighted to be appointed to look after the RCJ as well".

"They are undergoing a period of change and we're working together to help manage this so that they can focus on client delivery for the benefit of their business while we manage their estate.".
