These can also be combined into a single 1,000-seater theatre, and has retractable seating to allow the floor space to be used for examinations and exhibitions.
The completion of the hall is part of an extensive building programme designed to provide additional and improved research, teaching and office space at the university.
The lecture hall, which attracted funding from the Higher Education Funding Council for England, has been designed by architects Patel Taylor and was built by Hutton Construction.
Ken Stonebridge, Senior Project Manager for EC Harris, said: "This was a challenging project which required the construction of a building to not only meet its primary function as a major academic lecture theatre, but one that was flexible enough to offer open plan accommodation for exhibitions, functions and examinations.
"Not only was the project delivered in line with programme and budget expectations, but its flexibility of use created within the design had a direct relationship in reducing the total building area to be provided.".
