PFI project receive two prestigious
awards
UK's largest PFI project on which EC Harris acted as technical advisor has received two prestigious awards from the Minister of State for Defence Procurement, Lord Drayson.
Project Allenby/Connaught, the Ministry of Defence's redevelopment of the army barracks in Aldershot and around Salisbury Plain, was presented with the Special Award for Outstanding Achievement and Acquisition Award The awards were created to acknowledge and commend the achievements of both client and supplier in producing outstanding contributions in acquisition, maximising the principles of smart acquisition
Entries also needed to show acquisition skills and behaviours to achieve faster, cheaper, better and more effective integrated project delivery.
The 35-year PFI project has a capital value of more than GBP1 billion and a through life of more than GBP7 billion.
When completed the project will provide a modern living and working environment, with associated support services for some 18,000 personnel.
