Team from Bristol office appointed for its wide-ranging experience and impressive project management skills.

As plans continue to take shape for Harvey Nichols' debut in the South-West, international property consultancy EC Harris has been selected to manage the extensive store fit-out Following the firm's success working on a number of Harvey Nichols' previous store fit outs - including the group's prestigious restaurant in London's Oxo Tower and its new store in Dubai - a team from the firm's Bristol office has been appointed for its wide-ranging experience and its impressive project management skills

Work has started on the 35,000 sq ft luxury store which is located in the Quakers Friars area of the city centre.

As Edward Gurhy, Associate in the Bristol office of EC Harris said: "We are proud that Harvey Nichols has again chosen EC Harris to support its move into a new location.

We aim to improve our clients' retail performance through the effective delivery of built assets - Harvey Nichol's continued confidence in our offering demonstrates we are doing just that.

"This is a great opportunity for us to work right in the revitalised retail heart of the Quakers Friars scheme, which will culminate in Bristol being one of the top ten retail centres in the country.

"Quakers Friars will feature a range of high fashion retailers, restaurants and cafes as well as more than 220 apartments looking out over Castle Park and the Floating Harbour.

"The Harvey Nichols store, with its innovative interior by a French designer, will anchor Quakers Friars and stamp its mark on the city.

The luxury store will draw on elements from the flag-ship store in London and will be an international retail and hospitality destination, with three retail floors, a restaurant and a bar area".

Quakers Friars is an integral part of Bristol's largest and most important city centre regeneration scheme following the GBP550 million investment by The Bristol Alliance to create a new city centre quarter named Cabot Circus.

It is predicted that following the development's completion in 2008, Bristol will benefit from a boost to the job economy in various sectors and a major increase in visitor numbers with 30 million expected in the first year.
