Under a joint venture, Reddy O'Riordan Staehli Architects and RORSA Interior specified Ecophon's Hygiene ceiling system as a multifunctional, high performance soffit, while the manufacturer's Focus AXL tiles suspended in the manner of mobiles.
This highly unusual combination will not only serve to provide an easy to clean ceiling surface - helping to counter the build up of dirt and hospital acquired infections - but also dampens the reflection of sound.
The head of RORSA Interior, Mr Marc O'Riain, comments: "As this was a sensitive project in a hospital environment we chose to utilise Ecophon's Hygiene Protec ceiling tiles.
"The company also constructed a dozen 'hanging clouds' which are suspended from the ceiling.
As with almost any hospital interior, reverberation can be a problem, and being cut from Ecophon's Focus AXL product they will offer greater acoustic comfort." Ecophon's Hygiene range offers specifiers a choice of three separate ceiling systems - Performance, Protect and Advance - covering a diversity of demanding situations.
This includes creating a ceiling suitable for areas prone to regular heavy soiling and requiring daily high pressure cleaning. Request a free brochure from Ecophon ...
