A mixture of Focus E, Master Alpha E and Hygiene Performance tiles were installed in combination with Ecophon grid systems.
Three separate runs of Ecophon's illuminated, level-change product have been used to maximise available ceiling height with the uplit extrusions making a feature of the sloping roof.
One of the designers at Kendall Kingscott closely involved with the project, James Gollicker, comments: "This was a high specification contract where the client was acutely aware of the high turnover of staff at call centres, so acoustic performance was very important".
"Ecophon systems were therefore specified to ensure the creation of a comfortable acoustic environment, as well as being aesthetically pleasing." The illuminated level change, effected with Ecophon's light coffers, features in the main call centre space where up to 60 people will work at any one time.
This creates a feature transition between two adjoining areas of Master Alpha E.
The same tile is also used for additional call areas, quiet rooms and the staff training rooms.
The Focus E tiles were installed in general administration areas while Hygiene Performance with a C3 corrosion-resistant grid was specified for the washrooms.
The Avon and Somerset Force Service Centre has been in full use for several months, free from reported problems with reverberation, inaudibility, or other noise related issues in the building.
