Super Spacer brings new custom for Clayton Glass
Since choosing Edgetech's Super Spacer, Clayton Glass has attracted new customers specifically looking for units with warm edge technology.
Three thousand square metres of glass were manufactured over two and a half months before being sent to China to protect the warriors and horses of the Qin dynasty.
"The Chinese government needed to create a perfect atmosphere to preserve these priceless artifacts," explains Dirk Ceyssens, Owner of Glas Ceyssens Belgium, which manufactures IQ Glass products.
"As the museum is underground we had to make sure there were no problems with condensation".
Inventor Pierre Glorieux designed IQ Glass's heated doors and windows 20 years ago, but large scale production only began three years ago.
The inner pane of IQ Glass has a metal oxide coating which helps disperse heat.
The coating on the outer pane reflects heat inside while blocking cold from outside.
Krypton gas filled units with Super Spacer achieve an amazing level of thermal insulation: 0.84 W/m2k.
"This was one of our first major projects with heated glass," continues Dirk, "but we're now working on five other projects with Super Spacer in China too, and several in Europe, including Luxembourg, Portugal and the UK." The UK franchise, based in Bristol, is headed by Emily Pennington and Peter Bartels, who exhibited at Glassex this year.
