Landlords and energy efficiency of rented property

An Edgetech product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Oct 9, 2008

Government has announced that Landlords now have to provide an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) showing the rating of their property to tenants.

For those in the window industry that haven't yet acknowledged the opportunity that comes with energy rated windows, the Government has supplied us with yet another reason to.

Andy Jones, European Managing Director of Edgetech comments: "The Government has announced that Landlords now have to provide an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) showing the rating of their property to tenants".

"A GBP200 repeatable fine can be issued if Landlords refuse to comply".

"This latest move shows that whatever our personal beliefs about climate change, the Government and consumers generally are continuing to demand more energy efficient products".

"Edgetech can provide the high performing energy efficient Super Spacer, manufactured in the UK, but we also want to work with fabricators and installers to sell the final product on".

"We realise selling energy rated windows requires a different approach and want to make the transition as easy as possible".

"The Super Spacer Dealership gives fabricators and installers access to our marketing and sales resources to do just this".

"We try to keep up to date with the latest developments, in part by actively working with trade and consumer organisations like for example the Energy Savings Trust, to ensure our customers' needs are met and that they are armed with all the facts they need.
