Ellmore Construction welcome 23 local pupils to its Yeadon HQ as part of the 2007 National Construction Week.

The pupils, from Guiseley School and Calderdale College formed part of the launch of National Construction Week in early October which aims to address recruitment issues faced by construction industry The students were shown presentations by representatives of Promoting Construction West Yorkshire, Leeds College of Building and the ConstructionSkills organisation on careers within construction before receiving a comprehensive tour of Ellmore's Henshaw Works offices and workshops

National Construction Week (NCW) is the UK wide not-for-profit campaign which gives young people the opportunity to experience the wide range of exciting opportunities available in the industry and boost interest in careers within construction.

Steve Ellmore, Managing Director of Ellmore Construction, was delighted by the day's activities: "We are fully committed to supporting the aims and objectives of National Construction Week which raises awareness amongst pupils of what the industry can offer in terms of career paths".

Promoting Construction West Yorkshire (PCWY) is an independent training group established in May 2003 in response to the regional boom in construction and associated skills shortage.

PCWY promotes the construction industry as an attractive career option and ensures that standards are maintained with the availability of training courses and employee development.

The Ellmore Construction Group comprises of five specific divisions in Construction, Bank and Shop Fitting, Facilities Management, Bespoke Joinery and Restoration and Conservation.

The company has recently achieved BS EN ISO 9001 certification and Investors in People status and regularly works with a number of blue chip clients including Lloyds TSB, Britannia Building Society, Abbey and Prudential as well as many developers, local authorities and government departments.
