Alco Beldan have completed an installation at a recently renovated property in North London which used to be the home of the golden couple Lulu and the late Maurice Gibb.
"We have built up a hugely successful business since the company was established eight years ago and we foresee a sharp increase in the volume market for our UK made interior goods".
"Hence we made the decision to invest in the Elumatec SBZ 122 CNC machine centre as well as other aluminium fabrication equipment to help us meet expected demand".
As Philip points out, many similar products sold in the UK are imported from abroad, and up to 20% of those with glass infill panels are delivered with breakages or other damage causing cost and time delays to projects.
"We make our doors to measure, with a choice of over 50 different types of glass available to the customer, housed within the aluminium frames," he continues.
"The new CNC machine enables us to provide accurate and robust units time after time, quickly and to the highest quality standards, which is why our customers return to us".
This is Commonfield's first investment in semi automation and Philip expects the hinged door market to expand in future.
"In today's competitive environment, there is an increasing need for sophisticated machinery to assist us with the volume of doors for kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and lounges," he concludes.
"Elumatec machinery has a reputation throughout the industry for reliability and high performance and installing the SBZ 122 in the factory is a proactive move to help improve our long term productivity and profitability.".
