Emseal introduces breakthrough 'DSM
System'
Watertightness, low-temp flexibility and high-temp stability in structural movement joint sealing from Emseal.
Emseal, the leading manufacturer of premium sealants, expansion joints and gasket products, announces its breakthrough DSM System The hybrid silicone and impregnated precompressed foam sealant System is ideal for new or retrofit use in applications requiring watertight, traffic-durable expansion joint treatment, such as in parking decks, building perimeter joints, stadiums, ice-floors and other sports arena movement joints

Emseal's DSM System is an evolution of prior products and features Emseal's patent pending microsphere-modified-acrylic impregnation.
This new chemistry incorporates a hydrophobic micro-cell component never before available in a precompressed sealant formulation.
The product features sealing performance significantly greater than any acrylic impregnated predecessor.
In addition, it is odorless, clean handling, UV stable, non-staining, and features low temperature flexibility not previously available in asphalt, wax, or isobutylene-based predecessors.
The result is the extension of the usability of impregnated foam sealants to application conditions where asphalt and wax-based predecessors did not work well.
These conditions include those of thermal shock (rapid opening and closing of joints during large temperature swings) as well as where high temperature and simultaneous joint closing have challenged impregnation bleeding stability.
The DSM System has been proven effective in joint-face adhered installations on top decks as well as intermediate decks, and in stadium tread and riser applications in substrates of concrete and metal.
"This product takes Emseal's technology leadership position in precompressed foam sealants - and building on a long and successful track record, extends the capability of this product type into applications that have previously been constrained due to chemistry limitations," comments Emseal President and CEO Lester Hensley.
