Seeing Through A Landmark Building
One of the most innovative building projects in Docklands has had phase one of its ambitious glass curtain walling completed by English Architectural Glazing.
Using funding from the Heritage Lottery and major donations from private individuals and bodies the development programme will upgrade and renovate the building and create more accessible areas for the public and the Institution's members.
Such developments will include the complete transformation of the basement areas, the introduction of a dedicated restaurant/cafe area, a modern, interactive museum and more rooms that will be open to the public and members.
Architect Terry Farrell and Partners and main contractor ISG have carefully scheduled work with subcontractors such as EAG since the project began in 2005 to ensure that the Institute remains operational during the construction works.
The project is scheduled for completion in December 2008.
