Energy Star qualified homes are more energy efficient than homes built to the Ontario Building Code.
This is achieved through higher quality construction, low-e argon windows; more insulation; an energy-efficient furnace; a heat recovery ventilator (HRV); and a programmable thermostat, among other energy saving features.
Working together, these energy efficiency features result in significant energy savings; approximately 30% above homes built to minimum building code requirements, with annual electricity consumption dropping by approximately 1,000 kWh and greenhouse gas emissions falling by as much as 3 tonnes per year.
"This has been a really fun day, and I think a lot of people learned about the benefits of energy efficient homes".
"These model units prove that you don't have to sacrifice great design in order to achieve superior energy efficiency," said Natascha Pieper, Director of Sales and Marketing for Baywood Homes.

All Baywood homes in the Ravines of Greenhill come with luxurious finishes including 9 foot ceilings on the main floor, coffered ceilings (as per plan) and natural oak finish pickets and railings on the main staircase.
"Baywood Homes has done an excellent job of combining high energy efficiency with quality architectural design and decor," said Corey McBurney of EnerQuality.
