This design is achieved via several two metre diameter prefabricated circular panels cut from the overhang soffit.
Euroclad was posed with a technical challenge to achieve this design, as each piece is required to be cut consistently and evenly.
The Euroclad team was able to use its in-house technical expertise and computerised machinery to ensure absolute precision.
Due to the distinctive design of the building, Linear 3 panels were used for the bullnose soffit.
Each cassette panel is positively fixed to the support grid and can be supplied with a rainscreen.
The cassette panel systems offer the ultimate in design creativity and flexibility with the range of materials and finishes Euroclad can offer.
Part of a regeneration project for the whole town, Porth Plaza is linked to the nearby 'Pop Factory', a multimedia facility run by television company Avanti, and was built to reflect the style of Porth library.
Featuring a red brick frontage and cladding glass, Porth Plaza is linked to the adjacent brick-built Porth Library, adding impact to the whole plaza project and revamping Porth town centre.
The roofing section of the building was installed by roofing contractor DWT.
After the local council received a European regional development fund grant, a facility was planed which would house incubator units for new businesses, a modern learning cafe, a creche and a training centre.
The total floor space of Porth Plaza is 1,858 square metres split into 35% of the area for business incubator units and the creche and the remaining 65% for the learning cafe.
Porth Plaza is a modern environment for new technology and media learning for a target group of 16-24 year olds in the area.
The aim is to create a contemporary and exciting building, which will stimulate the economy and community.
