Impressive smooth lines and high durability in a roof from Euroclad is the finishing touch at the new Science, Design and Technology building at The Community College Whitstable in Kent The specialist cladding and roofing manufacturer supplied a rollformed aluminium standing seam roof which was installed by 5M Roofing and Cladding

To follow a radius on plan, it was necessary to rollform precision tapered Euroseam sheets.

Euroclad has the capability to roll the narrowest tapered sheets available to enable extremely competitive construction of this roof style.

Euroseam is typically used in long lengths to roof a full building width, eliminating any end laps.

The risk of water ingression is significantly reduced, as the roof is one continuous sheet with no joints.

To ensure constant accuracy during supply a computer controlled manufacturing technique is applied.

Euroseam tapers complement the market leading curving parameters of Euroseam systems and offer a perfect fit and unbeatable design flexibility for challenging aesthetic requirements.

Euroseam systems are accredited with BBA Certification.

In addition to being lightweight and having excellent weathering capabilities Euroseam is also environmentally friendly and allows for design flexibility.

Whilst tapered stucco embossed Euroseam was specified for The Community College Whitstable, the product is also available in crimp curve, smooth curved, smooth curved waveform and in either mill-finish aluminium, painted aluminium, zinc, steel or copper.

Bob Jones, the Business and Marketing Executive at The Community College Whitstable comments, "The overall delivery of the project has been excellent by all of the contractors concerned and the facility that we now have in school is a state-of-the-art Science, Design and Technology building that will serve many generations of students to come.

With its superb design and facilities the school will act as a template for other schools.

The college is now an asset to the community and the district".

The Community College Whitstable is a co-educational secondary modern school for students aged between 11 and 18 years of age.

The newly built Science, Design and Technology building houses nine fully equipped state-of-the-art science laboratories and an additional nine design and technology multimedia workshops.

Built on two storeys and on a footprint of approximately 20,000 square feet, the structure follows a curved shape that adjoins the existing L-shaped building.

The facility was designed to a high specification with long panels of glass across the front elevation, letting in an abundance of light to encourage learning and increase motivation.

Large circulation areas allow students to travel from class to class unhindered and a focal point is provided by a double height void, creating an impression of light and space.

Complying with BBA Certificate Systems, Euroseam tapers allow for the perfect fit and design flexibility.

Euroclad successfully supplied a functional and well-designed roofing solution for The Community College Whitstable, creating an inspiring place to learn. Request a free brochure from Euroclad ...
