Arresting design from Euroclad

Dynamic curves in a single span roof from Euroclad are a vital part of the stunning Gloucestershire Constabulary County Police Headquarters.

Taking the shape of an elipse, the Euroseam standing seam roof spans around 8,500m2 of floor space

Finished in Moorland Green, the roof forms part of a building designed to present a dynamic and inspiring appearance for 400 members of staff at the Quedgeley-based headquarters.

An area planted as a 'green roof' parallels the smooth, precise lines of self-curved aluminium.

The size of the project required the main contractor, specialist roofing contractor and manufacturer to work as an integrated and cooperative team.

Euroclad rolled the sheet on site, in lengths of over 120 metres.

Euroclad's self-contained, mobile rollformer eliminates issues such as limited site access and storage space, high transport costs and damage during transit.

A telescopic ramp allowed the sheets to be rolled directly to roof, where they were installed by MH Massey Roofing and Cladding Contractors.

Euroclad Fabrications manufactured bespoke flashings, shaped as two identical, opposing radii.

The flashings edge the perimeter of the roof, forming a precise, defined finish.

Martin Massey, Project Manager for MH Massey Roofing and Cladding Contractors, said: "Systems from Euroclad allow us to install cost effectively, without compromising on quality." Blackdown Horticultural Consultants installed the green roof system on around 200m2 of the Euroseam roof.

Alan Tarr of Blackdown Horticultural project managed the green roof installation.

He comments: "A green roof helps to enhance performance by providing a natural system of containing heat, improving rainwater management and providing a higher standard of air quality outside". Request a free brochure from Euroclad ...

Commenting on the striking building, Chief Constable Dr Timothy Brain says: "It's an exciting building that will inspire the people who work in it.".
