For more than 40 years, E P Barrus has been accredited to internationally recognised quality management system standards and has now achieved accreditation to ISO 9001:2008.

This latest standard updates and replaces the 2000 version.

Barrus has previously been accredited to AQUAP 1 (Allied Quality Assurance Plan No 1), BS5750 part 1 and ISO 9001:2000.

Robert Glen, managing director of Barrus commented: "We are delighted to have achieved the highest standard in the commercial world, with over 40 years recognition for our commitment to the maintenance of our quality systems and to the company's continuous quality improvement".

Keryn Clarke, head of operations at Barrus with responsibility for Quality Management for the company added: "The process in achieving accreditation has included analysing and challenging every aspect of the Barrus operation".

"This dedication to quality ensures that our customers, both internal and external benefit from a continuous high level of service and support".

The award was made through Bureau Veritas, ranked as the world's second largest group in conformity assessment and certification services in the fields of quality, health and safety, environment and social responsibility.
