Frost and Sullivan has presented ESAB with the Global Best Partners Welding and Cutting Systems for Energy Generation Award.

ESAB is a manufacturer of welding and cutting systems for energy generation industries in Europe and is emerging in the global market.

In 2009, it accounted for nearly 18 per cent of the global welding and cutting market for energy generation.

ESAB's equipment and consumables are manufactured under an ISO 9001 quality assurance programme which supports their use in industries with high corrosion rates.

ESAB has obtained the IS0 14001 worldwide certification.

ESAB has 29 manufacturing plants worldwide and is established in nearly 80 countries.

Each major region has a specific Research and Development facility to meet local requirements.

ESAB provides services to EPCs and fabrication houses, and has an extensive network of sales and service engineers, supported by customer and technical support services.

Frost and Sullivan global research identified a key challenge facing welding companies is the increasing customer service requirements and need for higher technology.

ESAB prepared for this situation and in early 2008 made Customer Focus its main business strategy.

This led to an extensive review of its marketing, sales and supply chain functions.

In 2009, ESAB restructured its European region and the regional supply chain with the intention to dramatically reduce lead times and improve its delivered in full and on time KPI.

Frost and Sullivan research shows that customers have responded to the changes.

ESAB has launched of its telescopic boom (TELBO), meeting customer requirements for higher technology.

The company's Project Management system ensures each customer is dealt with maximum efficiency from initial enquiry to after-sales service.

ESAB has a spare parts division to help customers rapidly buy and order parts, minimising machine downtime which is a key element of ESAB's after-sales service and includes the provision of planned machine maintenance and service programmes for all cutting systems.
