Eternit Slates Make The Grade At Cardiff
School
It was back to the classroom for leading roofing manufacturer, Eternit Slates when its E3000 slate was used in the first major renovation of Eglwys Newydd Primary School in Whitchurch, Cardiff.
The school was built in 1901 and architects, Cardiff City Schools Services, wanted to retain the historical appearance and original features of the building whilst at the same time keeping to a modest budget for both product and installation The impressive and traditional look of the Cardiff School has been created through a sensitive restoration process which involved replacing the previously installed natural slate roof with the realistic slate-look, E3000 Eternit slate

Eternit Slates' Guide To Heavenly Roofs
Eternit Slates, the market leader in double-lap slating, has launched a new detailed guide containing information on its wide range of 'heavenly' slates.
With its smooth surface and authentic dressed edge, the E3000 closely resembles natural slate and offers a traditional and aesthetically pleasing look to the roof in-keeping with the local surroundings.
The slates are long lasting, protected with a weather resistant coating and coloured to reproduce the most popular colours available in natural mineral roofing slates; blue/black, green and heather.
Being a lighter weight than natural slate, it also assisted greatly with the installation process, speeding up the time spent constructing the roof.
Fraser Higgins, Product Manager for Eternit Slates explains: "We worked closely with Cardiff City Schools Services to find a product which would meet their specification for both aesthetics and cost efficiency.
The natural slate-like qualities of E3000 made them an ideal choice for this type of renovation, helping to maintain a traditional feel to the building, whilst offering a hard-wearing and economical alternative to natural slate." The new E3000 brochure is now available, and full details of the Eternit range can be found in the 'Heavenly Roofs Guide'. Request a free brochure from Marley Eternit ...
