Eternit Meet Professor David Bellamy.
A biodiversity management scheme run by Eternit Building Materials has taken centre stage with TV presenter and world-famous naturalist Prof David Bellamy.
The Professor, who combines writing books and writing and presenting hundreds of TV programmes with his role as president of the Wildlife Trusts Partnership, was keynote speaker at a business and biodiversity seminar held by Staffordshire Biodiversity Partnership and Staffordshire Wildlife Trust Chartered engineer Peter Tomlinson, who is health, safety and project manager for Eternit Building Materials' clay tiles division, which is a trust member, spoke later on how businesses with a large land ownership can play a part in biodiversity stewardship

The results of a study he commissioned by the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust were used to draw up a biodiversity asset register that the company is using to measure the effect of its operations on wildlife that included water voles and great crested newts.
"The old adage 'If you can't measure it you can't manage it' holds true for biodiversity as with any key indicator in business performance," he told delegates.
